Cahuita is a small beach town on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. It is a close community that is rich in history and has something to offer for everyone. There is a lot to do such as surfing, fishing, snorkeling, jungle adventures and much more!
Our company was established in 2014 with a goal of becoming Cahuita's #1 source for surf. We cater to all skill levels and abilities. The instructors are known for their vast knowledge of the sport as well as their patience and skills in teaching. Cahuita Experience is a highly sought after surf school for many large groups to learn to surf and have fun doing it!
Since then we have quickly expanded into ecotourism from our passion for nature and preserving it for years to come. One of our newest offerings is the Sloth Tour. This was an important addition to our tours because we want to help people have safe and proper encounters with sloths all while educating them on the importance of their environment and protecting it. Should I bring cash or use my credit card?We suggest using cash, either USD or Colones (local currency). The local ATM is frequently out of service or out of cash so we advise to get cash before arriving to Cahuita.

What are your booking policies?DEPOSIT POLICY At least a 25% deposit is required at time of the reservation (In person bookings). Online bookings, excluding surf packages, require a full payment at time of booking. AGE POLICY Must be 18+. Under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. LANGUAGE POLICY Lessons and activities available in Spanish and English. CANCELLATION POLICY If weather conditions are unfavorable causing cancellation then a rebooking or refund may be given. We understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly, and we strive to be flexible for our valued customers. If you wish to cancel your reservation, kindly notify us at least 72 hours before the scheduled tour date to receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour will be eligible for a 50% refund, while cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour will not be eligible for any refund. For any cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances, such as natural disasters or government-imposed restrictions, we will offer a rescheduling option at no additional cost. We believe in providing exceptional experiences, and we appreciate your understanding of our cancellation policy as we strive to deliver the best services while respecting the dynamic nature of travel arrangements. Group booking cancellations: For group bookings, we require a notice of cancellation at least 14 days prior to the scheduled tour date to receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 to 13 days before the tour will be eligible for a 50% refund, while cancellations made within 6 days of the tour will not be eligible for any refund. We understand that group plans can be complex, but this policy allows us to ensure the best possible experience for all our customers. Do you offer surf lessons for all levels and ages?Yes! We accommodate lessons for all levels of surfing. Our lessons are best suited for ages 5 years or older.

Can I book as a solo traveller?Yes! There are select bookings that require a minimum of 2 people. Additional charges may apply if you are only one person booked for an activity/package.

How advanced should I book activities?We require at least 24 hours in advance to book activities with us. You can book online through our website or contact us with any questions you may have.

Is transportation available from the airport?Yes, we can provide transportation to and from the airport for up to 6 people. Please contact us to set up transportation.

What should I bring to activities?For most of our activities some must-have items are repellent, sunscreen, and water. Check out the activity description on our website for a full list of what to bring for each activity.

Are group packages/rates available?Yes! Please fill out a contact form with information about your group (amount of people, ages etc). We will be happy to create an itinerary that will suit your group best.

I want to do an activity but my child/ren can't join. Do you offer childcare?Yes! We have a childcare provider that speaks english and has over 10 years of experience taking care of children of all ages and abilities. Please fill out the contact form to set up care.
